Ben is the senior partner and co-founder of the firm. He qualified as a solicitor in 1983 and became a partner with Lawrence Graham soon afterwards.
He advises a wide range of clients from smaller privately owned companies to large financial institutions and has substantial experience in corporate finance and funding and negotiating commercial agreements.
Ben also has particular expertise in the sports and leisure industries. He has been a board member of a Stock Exchange listed leisure group and has acted for several major sports' governing bodies.
Ben is a member of the British Association for Sport and Law.

Christine is joint managing partner and a co-founder of Moorhead James LLP. She qualified as a solicitor in 1985. She was previously with Radcliffes & Co. and Herbert Smith and now has a non-fee earner role at Moorhead James LLP.
She has substantial commercial litigation experience, initially at Radcliffes and, after the establishment of Moorhead James LLP, as head of the firm's litigation practice. She set up the employment department and has since specialised in contentious and non-contentious employment work. Throughout, she has had a particular interest in sports law, principally contentious matters and anti-doping issues in particular.

Christopher joined Moorhead James LLP in 2001 to head up and develop the firm's corporate recovery and insolvency department.
He has specialised in the field since 1990 and advises both creditors and debtors, whether corporate or individuals, as well as acting for administrators, administrative receivers, liquidators, supervisors of voluntary arrangements and trustees in bankruptcy.
Chris started his legal career twenty five years ago and has worked for a number of leading city firms as well as small to medium-sized practices. He has had a number of high profile reported cases including Rose v AIB Group (UK) plc.

David is joint managing partner and a co-founder of Moorhead James LLP. He qualified in 1989 with the firm that subsequently became Lawrence Graham.
Specialising in company and commercial work, David advises on many corporate issues including mergers and acquisitions, disposals, MBOs and MBIs, joint ventures, shareholder agreements and business start-ups.
He has substantial experience of private equity, corporate finance and banking, agency and distribution agreements, statutory compliance and non-contentious insolvency work. He is a company secretary for several companies. David also has particular expertise in sports related matters.

David joined Moorhead James LLP in 2001 having gained over twenty years experience working with a number of small to medium sized London practices.
He acts for clients in a wide variety of businesses including publishing, telecommunications, information technology and certification.
David deals with complex multi-track and fast track cases. As head of the firm's debt recovery service, he also has substantial experience of managing bulk debt recovery and small claims for commercial clients.

Edward qualified as a solicitor in 1996 after previously being a barrister (called to the Bar in 1989) and serving six years with the Metropolitan Police. He joined Moorhead James LLP in 2001, having spent ten years with a small city firm where he was the partner in charge of litigation.
A member of the Employment Lawyers Association, Edward advises employers and employees. He has particular expertise in the transport sector.
Edward has also conducted a number of commercial litigation cases and advises on unusual and complex insolvency cases, especially those involving employment issues or fraud.

After qualifying with Radcliffes & Co. in 1979, Julian moved to the City to join Hobson Audley, where he became a partner in 1987. In 1992, he was one of the founding partners of Moorhead James LLP.
Drawing on his in-depth knowledge of this complex sector, Julian leads the Moorhead James LLP property team, advising a wide range of clients on all aspects of non-contentious property work. This includes commercial and residential transactions, Landlord and Tenant issues, construction documentation and commercial security as well as advising on property aspects of major corporate transactions.

Mary Ann joined Moorhead James LLP early in 2007 from an established West End firm having previously gained varied experience in different aspects of law.
She manages our bankruptcy team within the Corporate Recovery & Insolvency Department. Her team handles very high volume issuing of bankruptcy petitions.
Mary Ann deals with all associated matters including negotiation of settlements and recovery of costs on behalf of our clients together with full preparation for hearings and assisting with matters following the Bankruptcy Order.

Nicholas joined Moorhead James LLP as a consultant in 2009 having been a partner for many years with a number of leading City firms.
He has over twenty five years' experience of corporate finance transactions involving smaller quoted companies, acting for companies and for financial advisers. He focuses on flotation and associated matters, including secondary fundraising, corporate reorganisations, capital reductions and schemes of arrangement, as well as merger and acquisition work and takeovers. He also advises public companies on corporate governance and other regulatory requirements.
Nicholas is chairman of the legal committee of the Quoted Companies Alliance, which represents the interests of smaller public companies outside the FTSE 350, and has worked in-house as company secretary and legal head of a listed fund management company.![]() |

Raheel qualified as a solicitor in 2000. After gaining experience as a commercial and civil litigator, he joined a Legal 100 listed regional firm in 2002 to focus on insolvency work. He joined Moorhead James LLP's Corporate Recovery and Insolvency team in 2004, since when he has gained considerable experience in this field. He advises on all aspects of personal and corporate insolvency.

Richard qualified as a solicitor in 1972 at Lawrence Graham where he was a partner for several years before moving to smaller city firms. He joined Moorhead James LLP as a consultant in 2003.
He handles an extensive spread of corporate and commercial work for a variety of clients - mainly established unquoted companies - as well as employment issues, particularly at senior executive level.
Since 1993 Richard has been a member of the advisory panel for the Institute of Directors Advisory Service where he is consulted on a wide spectrum of business-related legal issues.
Richard has experience of working with charities, particularly in the educational sector.
He is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and the Allied Schools Council.

Robert qualified as a solicitor in 1974 and joined Moorhead James LLP in 2010, having been a partner at KSB Law and more recently a consultant at Davies Arnold Cooper.
He has extensive expertise in commercial property, particularly in respect of the negotiation and settlement of commercial leases and ancillary documentation. He is also the author of “Commercial Leases: Tenants' Amendments”, now in its sixth edition, which advises on the amendments that should be made by tenants and their advisers to leases and other deeds.
Robert acts for a number of retailers, but also has extensive experience in acting for developers as well as landlords and occupiers of office premises.![]() |

Sam joined Moorhead James LLP in 2004. Since then she has specialised in employment law whilst also completing a training contract. She qualified as a solicitor in May 2008. She advises on all aspects of employment law, acting for both employees and empoyers. She has particular expertise in the transport sector. Sam is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.

Susan is experienced in all areas of employment law, advising both employers and employees. She has particular expertise in internal HR issues and tribunal work, dealing with the transport industry and sporting bodies and organising seminars and training for clients.
Susan qualified as a legal executive in 1998. She joined Moorhead James LLP in August 2005 having spent four years in the employment department at Davenport Lyons.
She is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
